At the midnight of 921, a big earthquake hit Taiwan.  Many people were badly hurt and lots of buildings collapsed.

I was woken up by the strange noise from the windows then.  I got up and tried to walk, but it was quite hard.  The floor kept shaking and many objects fell down, I was about to be hurt by an unknown object.  I was afraid and hopeless in the dark.  But, fortunately, I found other family members and successfully escaped from our home in the end.  The whole process was really terrible.  After leaving home, I even saw some other families cry out for help, being extremely painful and sad.

It was the matter of life and death.  I was very thankful that all our family members were alive and fine.   Because some people were not so lucky to live out their lives, our family would more cherish the close relationship between each other after surviving from the earthquake.

A memorable event in my life                          508      8號   王萱蓉

When I was in the 6th grade, my classmate told me her mother got the breast cancer. In two months, her mother passed away. After this miserable event, I have a different way to confront the death issue.

We are usually scared and sad when we face the death. But as a line in a movie said: “ If you smile, you won’t be sorrowful. My classmate faces her mother’s death with positive attitude. Though she is lacked of the care of her mother, she played a part of her mother and helped her father take care of her younger sister and become very independent. She did a better job than anyone who has parents.

From the event of my friend, I learn that I need to cherish what I own now. And I have to face any difficulties without despair. We have to encourge ourselves and people around us.

A Memorable Event in My life     11 李慧品

My grandfather passed away when I was a nine-year-old girl, but I didn’t cry. I didn’t understand what “Death” really means until the year 2004.

I totally changed when the tsunami in Southeast Asia on December 26, 2004 happened. When I first watched the news on TV, I was shocked. Many people died in the event. Lots of people lost their friends, relatives and family. Their family cried with sorrow and couldn’t believe the truth. I felt really sad and I would never forget this disastrous event.

Life is short. I can’t know when I will die, so I will make good use of every day and try my best to do everything so that I will leave no regret.

A memorable event in my life              20號張淑婷

Three months ago,I got a part-time job in a fast food restaurant. However,a few days ago,I quit the job. Now I am still a student, but I know what I want and learn from the meaningful experience.

In the beginning,I thought I could support myself. But I was defeated because I couldn't reach the manager's request. The failure upseted me. One day, when I was cleaning the guests' tables,I cried. I thought I could do the job well even earn money for my expenses. But I failed,I couldn't stand the pressure.

After the day,I changed my life attitude. I know earning money is very hard and tiring,I shouldn't waste money. And I start to study hard and think about my future. Most of all,I know the reason lies behind my parents have worked for twenty years with any complaint is their love. And I love them ,too.

I had been a healthy girl all the time until I was seven. I seldom got sick because my Mother took care of me very well. But one day, I was diagnosed with a disease, and needed a surgery. I was too young to know what would happen to me, but Mother seemed worried after hearing the bad news.

The day of surgery was coming. I was lying on the operating table with Mother’s company. While the doctor and nurses stood around me and injected anesthetic to me, I cried out loudly and shook in fear. Because the nurse couldn’t find my blood vessel, I got more than a shot. During the painful time, Mother kept holding my hands tightly. I fell asleep in release with Mother’s whisperingYou’ll be fine. I’m here.

I can neither remember how long did the surgery take nor what happened after anaesthetized. But I knew that Mother never left me, and calmed me down when I was shouting. From then on, I realized no matter what happened, parents will always stay with their children. Furthermore, it’s important to value the health of ourselves, and don’t keep parents worried.

Attending an English speech contest is a memorable event in my life.  It was when I was a ten-year-old child .The teacher asked me to give a speech onstage.  When I first stood on the stage and faced the whole class,I felt sick and stammered out only a few words.

Because of the bad experience, many classmates usually made fun of me. It made me upsethowever,in order to change my classmatesviews, I decided to join an English speech contest.

The offense inspired my ideal. From then on, I practiced speaking in front of the dolls in my room every day. Not until I conquered the fear did I stop.

After a lot of efforts,I finally stood on the stage again. But this time, I felt at home when I gave a speech to a large number of audience.

Eventually, I won the second place. When I got the certificate onstage with enthusiastic applause, I thought it was a memorable moment in my life.

In my childhood, my parents were usually busy. I only knew that they sold children’s clothes in traditional market. I didn’t understand why they were busy until I was ten years old.

One day, I was informed that I would go to work with my parents. We went to work at 5:00a.m. The market was noisy and dirty. I saw my parents greeted the customers and picked clothes for them. We finished our work at 4:00p.m. Before we went to home, my father asked me to fold all of the clothes. After I finished the work, my hands were very sore. I can’t even move my arms all three days.

That day, I really understood that it was a laborious task. No matter how the weather was, my parents still had to do it the whole year. They usually felt exhausted due to the tiring work. I hoped that I could be independent so that they would spend less time on me and have much time to rest. Because of the experience, I learned that we should listen to our parents’ words and didn’t let them worry about us.

A memorable event in my life      魏懿容

My class in junior high school was filled with cunning people, and they hurt me a lot. Then I decided to close myself instead of trusting others.

After going to senior high school, I chose to remain cold and not showing my true emotion forever. But my new classmates were friendly and had a lot of passion, and their attitude touched my heart and I began to think whether what I did was wrong or right. Finally, I fully opened my heart to everyone, because I realized that it is impossible to live alone without contacting others.

Now when I go to a new place or attend a new party, I am no longer afraid of making friends. It is my new classmates taught me that I can’t act like a frog living in its own well and also one of the most valuable treasures in my life.

A memorable event in my life          王宜璇

In my second year of junior high school, our school held a cheer squad contest.  We have to choreograph by ourselves, and competed with 23 classes.  At first, our class wasn’t active.  However, as the contest approached, we started paying attention to exercise frequently.

Finally, the day of contest came, but something unexpected happened.  When we stood on the stage, the music played before we were ready.  We had no choice but to start. At that time, all of us though that we failed.  However, to our surprise, we won’t fourth prize in the end.  We jumped up with joy.

Perhaps most people think that winning the prize is very glorious, but for me, the value is not winning the prize.  Instead, the time I spent with my classmate, is the most valuable and memorable in my life.
